Out of stock
Opoponax (sometimes spelt ‘opopanax’) is a mysterious oil which may or may not be the ‘stacte’ mentioned in Exodus (30:34-38). Also known as sweet myrrh. The scent is balsamic and deep, with a sweet honey-like undertone. Botanical name: commiphora erythraea.
In James Joyce’s Ulysses, Leopold Bloom recognizes opopanax as an ingredient in the perfume of his wife, Molly.
